Hamburg/ München (ots) - During the three-day 'Intersolar Europe'
international exhibition in Munich, starting on June 8th, BP Solar is
presenting its innovative InnerCoolTM module technology, nominated
for the Intersolar Award 2011 in the category 'Photovoltaics'. Other
product developments on display in hall A1 at the booth A1.360 will
include BP Solar's new higher power mono- and poly-crystalline
modules, and a new Q-series product line for commercial and large
 scale projects.

 InnerCool[TM] Module Technology

BP Solar has developed an innovative high energy yield module
technology called 'InnerCoolTM'. It includes a unique formulation of
the internal module layers that improves heat dissipation from the
back of the module over standard EVA encapsulant material. As the
module operates at lower temperatures its thermal stress is reduced,
increasing the amount of energy produced (kWh/kWp) by up to three
percent compared to a standard crystalline module. BP Solar modules
with InnerCool[TM] technology are independently tests at the
Frauenhofer IWES and in a pilot installation at the King Abdullah
University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia in order
to evaluate the increased energy yield (kWh/kWp).

BP Solar will gradually integrate the InnerCoolTM technology
 worldwide into its product portfolio.

Mike Petrucci, CEO of BP Solar, said: "As customers are demanding
more energy from their solar modules they will be increasingly
requesting this type of advancement. The InnerCoolTM innovation adds
to BP Solar's leading power degradation performance, providing
"Highest Lifetime Value" to its customers."

David Arndt, Global Product Director, explains: "Currently there
are no solutions in flat plate technologies that can cost effectively
address the issue of elevated module temperature. The approach BP
Solar scientists have taken is to modify encapsulation materials by
including propriety additives to change the thermal properties of the
 encapsulant. "

 BP 3235T and BP 3235N

BP Solar is introducing a new power rating of 235 Watts (W) into
the polycrystalline BP 3-series. Customers can chose the T or N frame
option depending on their snow load requirements with a maximum push
load capability of 5400Pa. The BP 3-series will be the first product
line introduced with the new InnerCool[TM] module technology.

 BP 4185T and BP 4190T

The monocrystalline BP 4-series is now offered with new power
ratings of 185W and 190W. Its module design combines higher power and
outstanding energy performance. The anti-reflective coated glass
delivers up to four percent more energy.

 BP 4175B and BP 4180B

For installations with highest aesthetical requirements BP Solar
is further introducing the monocrystalline BP 4175B and BP 4180B
black modules with 175W and 180W nominal power. Black frame and back
sheet present an aesthetically-pleasing photovoltaic solution
maintaining a uniform appearance of the roofline especially for
 residential applications.

All BP Solar products of the mono- and polycrystalline series are
backed up by an industry leading power warranty with lower
degradation rates. They include technologies like anti-reflective
glass and are supported by smart design elements:
 - The aluminum frame has a rounded profile for better
handling comfort and is optimized for use with anti-theft
 bolts to increase security.
 - The enhanced frame design pushes the laminate very tight
to the front of the frame and reduces soiling losses.

 BP Q-series

BP Solar is introducing its Q-series product line featuring a
power range from 220W to 235W. It has been developed with a
completely new module design addressing the specific requirements of
project customers. Q-series modules are designed and tested in
compliance with BP Solar's high quality requirements which
significantly exceed IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)
standards. Hence, the Q-series provides utmost reliability in the
field. Q-series modules within a power class are additionally sorted
in groups according to their electrical characteristics. The result
is an optimized performance of the plant and an easier installation
process as no on-site sorting of modules is required anymore.

All product innovations are available for sale in the German and
 European market.

BP Solar Global Operations Center Initiative

As one element of BP Solar's energy management services the
company has developed a Global Operations Center initiative working
with industry leading monitoring and business processes solution
providers. This initiative allows BP Solar's Remote Operating Centers
in Houston, Texas and Madrid, Spain to complement its photovoltaics
(PV) plant Operation & Maintenance services. BP Solar thus achieves
full visibility of the status and working order of PV installations
globally increasing its customer's business value.
