"Greener Innovations That's Taiwan" to Provide Window onto Taiwan's Solar Power Industry

Geschrieben am 06-06-2011

Munich (ots) - Leaders in Taiwan's solar power sector discuss
industry trends as well Taiwan's role in the field

With a well-established photovoltaic supply chain covering wafers,
cells, and modules, Taiwan stands poised to become one of the premier
PV manufacturing hubs of Asia. In 2010, Taiwan's production of PV
cells totaled 3.5GWp with an annual growth of over 80%, performing
the best of all of the island's PV-related products and putting
Taiwan at second in the world. "Greener Innovations That's Taiwan" at
Intersolar 2011 invites leaders in Taiwan's solar power sector to
share their perspectives on this rapidly expanding industry as well
as to provide a look at their individual companies. By visiting
"Greener Innovations That's Taiwan", you can discover the ins and
outs of Taiwan's PV sector as well as how to do business with the "PV
Island of the World".

The presentation will take place from 14:00 to 15:30 pm at Room 4,
Intersolar on June 9. Registration for the event begins at 13:30.
Members of the press media are cordially invited. (For registration,

director of the Commercial Division of the Taipei Representative
Office in Germany, Buero Munich. "Greener Innovations That's Taiwan"
will then feature a presentation by Mr. Peter John Huang, managing
director of Perfect Source Technology Corp. (PST) Ltd. Perfect
Source, an ISO 9000 certified company, was first set up in 1999 by a
group of experienced professionals in the energy field. In
partnership with solarnova®, one of Germany's most experienced solar
module manufacturers, the factory employs the most sophisticated and
state-of-the-art German production machines and processes.

PST specializes in the design and manufacture of high efficiency,
high power 200Wp solar modules. The modules carry a variety of
electronic and energy-saving applications, such as in power plants,
rooftop power generation, solar streetlamps, and remote area power
generation. Perfect Source is a full-service vendor with complete
manufacturing facilities, including sites for tool making, design,
testing, assembly, and exports. Based in Taipei, PST has the capacity
to provide high quality solar modules to meet its OEM/ODM customers'
needs. The company combines Taiwan's world-class production practices
with German workmanship, putting PST on a path to become the world's
leading solution provider for green solar energy modules.

"Greener Innovations That's Taiwan" will also include a
presentation by Inventec Solar Energy Corporation (ISEC) president,
Mr. Harry Hsieh. ISEC was established in 2010 by the Inventec Group,
which has a longstanding reputation in the electronics and IT
industries. Having accumulated a great knowledge of end-products
design and manufacturing, the company decided it was time to move
into the clean energy industry. Inventec Solar Energy has since taken
on the mission of making solar energy the most popular and widespread
green power generation technology in use. By the end of 2011,
Inventec Solar Energy Corporation will begin mass production of 300
MW capacity, with expansion to 1.2 GW in 2012.The company's
sophisticated production plan is being implemented by a team of
highly-experienced individuals with backgrounds in both the
semiconductor and solar power industries. Among the merits Inventec's
products offer are high quality standards, cost- effectiveness, and
outstanding conversion efficiency. The company is well on its way to
realizing its goal of bringing affordable clean energy to every
household on the planet.

Also among the event's presenters is Tainergy Tech. The company
was established in 2007 by a group of highly-skilled professionals
from the solar and automation industries. Tainergy has made the
design, development, manufacture, and marketing of high performance
solar cells its core business goal. It plans to expand this year from
its current 200MW capacity to 500MW as well as begin production on a
200MW fab in Kunshan, China. Tainergy's product portfolio includes 6-
inch 2 busbar and 3 busbar multi-crystalline solar cells, with
efficiency up to 17.4%.Tainergy's R&D team is made up of highly-
qualified engineers and specialists from Taiwan's most prestigious
research institutes and industrial organizations. Moreover, the
factory seeks to distinguish its cells from those of its competitors
by continuously advancing the manufacturing process. For example, by
extending the lifetime of acidic liquid used in etching machines,
Tainergy has effectively increased its production output.

Finally, "Greener Innovations That's Taiwan" will feature speakers
from both the Sun Well Corporation and Sunner Solar Corporation.
Founded in 2007, Sun Well's production of thin film silicon PV
modules amounts to 45MW per year. Sunner Solar, established in the
same year, is set to apply its 10 years of experience and expertise
in thin film products R&D and mass production to the development of
the next generation of low cost, high efficiency solar cells.

"Greener Innovations That's Taiwan" is supported by the Ministry
of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign
Trade, MOEA. The event is being organized by the Taiwan External
Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and is an official side-event of
Intersolar Europe 2011. Guests are also invited to visit the Taiwan
Pavilion at Hall A2, 230 & 330.
