Company Information/Operating segments

Bad Oeynhausen (euro adhoc) - Acquired US companies C. Brewer and HK
Plastics Engineering will be integrated into the Group structure -
Half-yearly report for 2012/2013 will be published on 20 February
2013

Bad Oeynhausen, 29 January 2013 - Following the integration of C.
Brewer Co. and HK Plastics Engineering, Inc., the two US plastics
specialists acquired at the end of 2012, the Balda Group will be
doing business with the two operating segments - Balda Medical and
Balda Technical.

The existing Medical segment will be expanded to include the
respective healthcare activities of the two acquired companies. It
will comprise around 450 employees, who will be based in Bad
Oeynhausen and at four plants in California, USA. The segment will be
headed by Dr. Rolf Eilers.

The previous Electronics Products operating segment will be renamed
Balda Technical. In addition to the site at Ipoh, Malaysia, it will
also comprise three other sites of C. Brewer and HK Plastics
Engineering in California, USA. With a workforce of more than 1,100
employees, this segment will develop, produce and market precision
plastic injection molding solutions for high- quality optics,
electronics and automotive applications. The segment will be headed
by Dominik Müser, the sole member of Balda AG's Management Board.

Balda Central Services will remain the Group's third segment. It
mainly covers the activities of Balda AG as the Group's strategic and
financial holding company and as such is not an operating segment.

The Balda Group's new segment structure, which will be introduced
with the upcoming report on the first six months (1 July to 31
December 2012) of the current 2012/2013 financial year, is as
follows:

Balda Medical and Balda Technical are independent and equal segments
of the Balda Group, Bad Oeynhausen.

Balda Medical comprises the strategic business areas Pharma,
Diagnostics and Medical Technology. Around 450 employees work in Bad
Oeynhausen in Germany and at the US sites in Anaheim, Ontario, Irvine
and Oceanside. The Balda Medical segment is run by Dr. Rolf Eilers.

Balda Technical employs around 1,100 people at its production sites
in Ipoh (Malaysia) and Anaheim and Irvine (both USA). Balda Technical
comprises the strategic business areas Optics, Electronics and
Automotive. Balda Technical is managed by Dominik Müser (CEO).

In his capacity as Chief Executive Officer, Dominik Müser also
manages Balda Central Services, whose staff of eight in Bad
Oeynhausen and Amsterdam (The Netherlands) cover the strategic
services of corporate communications, capital markets as well as
financing and tax.

Due to the required integration of the two US acquisitions into the
consolidated financial statements of Balda AG, which, among other
things, will involve a changeover of the accounting to International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the 2012/2013 half-yearly
report will be published on 20 February 2013 and not on 7 February
2013, as previously announced.
