Haarlem / Netherlands, March 09, 2007 - LYCOS Europe, one of
the leading European portal providers and online advertisers, today
announced that it will appeal the decision of a Spanish court
related to the use of its Spanish trademark and believes that
a court of second instance would uphold this decision could
be considered as small. The Company does not expect any
significant impact on its financial statements.

In April 2004 Lico Leasing, a Spanish company working on the finance
sector under a registered trademark "LICO", filed a claim against Lycos Espana
Internet Services S.L. to stop the use of the trademark "Lycos" in Spain and
the domain name lycos.es. At the same time a claim was filed against Carnegie
Mellon University to deregister the trademark "Lycos" from the Spanish
Trademark Register. In addition Lico Leasing claimed for damages for the use of
the trademark "Lycos" by Lycos Espana Internet Services S.L.
The court of first instance in Madrid declared the Spanish Lycos trademarks
null and void and sentenced Lycos Espana Internet Services S.L. to stop the use
of the Trademark "Lycos" in Spain and to cease using the domain name lycos.es
and to withdraw the registration of the domain name. Lycos Espana Internet
Services S.L. will file an appeal against this court decision.
