has notified us pursuant to section 21 (1) WpHG that its percentage of voting
rights in SMT Scharf AG, Hamm, Germany, has exceeded the threshold of 5% and
amounted to 5.14% (216,055 voting rights) as of September 14, 2012.

Of these voting rights, 5.14% (216,055 voting rights) are attributed to The Bank
of New York Mellon Corporation pursuant to section 22 (1) sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG.

Voting rights of the following shareholders holding 3% each or more in SMT
Scharf AG are attributed to The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation:
- The Bank of New York Mellon
- The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV
- BNY Mellon Service Kapitalanlage-Gesellschaft mbH

No financial instruments were exercised.

notified us pursuant to section 21 (1) WpHG that its percentage of voting rights
in SMT Scharf AG, Hamm, Germany, has exceeded the threshold of 5% and amounted
to 5.14% (216,055 voting rights) as of September 14, 2012.
