In the first quarter of 2011, the Lenzing Group, a world market
leader for man-made cellulose fibers, was able to increase its
consolidated sales by 46 % to EUR 532.1 million compared to the same
period in the previous year (Q1 2010(1): EUR 365.0 million). The
increase in EBITDA of 66 % to EUR 114.9 million (Q1 2010(1): EUR 69.3
million) was even more pronounced.
Therefore, the Lenzing Group anticipates a better business
performance in the financial year 2011 than originally announced at
the press conference of the annual results on February 21, 2011. The
main reason for this being the good acceptance of the fiber price
increases at the beginning of the first and second quarters by the
market. Lenzing will present more detailed information together with
the publication of its first quarter results on May 11, 2011.
