Büdelsdorf, 7 August 2012 (euro adhoc) - freenet AG continues its
positive first-quarter performance in the second quarter of 2012.
Based on this, the freenet AG Executive Board confirms the full-year
guidance, which was published in March 2012 in connection with the
2011 preliminary figures. In the first half of 2012, freenet AG
generated group EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation
and amortisation) of 170.7 million euros, versus 162.3 million euros
in the first six months of 2011. At 124.0 million euros, free cash
flow* for the first half 2012 was on par with the previous year. The
Group generated revenue of 1.49 billion euros in the first six months
of 2012 as expected (1st Half 2011: 1.55 billion euros). Thereby
freenet AG increased its first-half Group result by 35.3 million
euros or 75.3 percent year-on-year to 82.2 million euros. The number
of (postpaid) contract customers remained stable at 5.69 million in
Q2/2012, while the no-frills customer base increased by 80,000 during
the same period, to 2.54 million. At the end of the second quarter of
2012, the total number of mobile communication customers was 14.46
million. The monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) for the
half-year was on par with that of the first half 2011: 23.5 euros.
