Dr. Hönle AG enters the growth market for water sterilisation: The
company acquires a 51 % stake in UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH,
Wümbach, Ilmenau. UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH has many years of
know-how in the segment of UV lamps that are used for water
sterilisation, in particular. The range of products also includes
electronic power supplies and measurement. Moreover, the company is
engaged in the sale of special lamps that are used for hardening and
material analysis. The company, with a staff of some 60 employees, is
profitable and earns annual revenues of ca. EUR 6.5 million. The
company plans revenues of about EUR 7 million for calendar year 2011
and EBIT of TEUR 600 to TEUR 700. Over the short to medium term,
Hönle expects synergy effects from the corporate acquisition, in
particular for the Development, Production and Sales areas, with a
corresponding positive effect on earnings.

As an efficient partner of UV equipment & UV systems manufacturers in
the growth market of UV environmental engineering, the newly acquired
company offers its customers a broad range of UV lamps and pertaining
components. Water sterilisation by means of ultraviolet radiation is
environmentally friendly since there is no need to use chemicals. UV
water sterilisation is used in the communal, industrial and private
sector, in particular in the field of drinking water sterilisation,
industrial water processing, and waste water sterilisation.

With the acquisition of UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH, Hönle
continues its strategy of increasingly generating sales in the field
of short-lived economic goods, in addition to the equipment and
systems business. Following the adhesives specialist, Panacol, and
the radiator specialist, Aladin, a further lamp specialist,
UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH, will now join the Hönle corporate
group. Upon signing the purchase agreement, Dr. Hönle AG received the
right to acquire the remaining 49 % stake in UV-Technik Speziallampen
GmbH.

Hönle will present the preliminary figures for financial year
2009/2010 on 10 December 2010. Together with the publication, the
Company will also announce the budgeted revenue and earnings figures
of the Hönle Group, which include the effects from the acquisition of
UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH.
