The Department of Waste Management and Pollution Control in the
Republic of Botswana has awarded Aqua Engineering SA (Pty) Ltd, a
subsidiary of Christ Water Technology, a contract for upgrading the
Gaborone Wastewater Treatment Works. The value of this contract is
roughly EUR 8.5 million.

The order is for the design and supply of the electro-mechanical
equipment for the upgrading of the existing works from the current
40,000 m3/d to 65,000 m3/d. The process comprises an extended
activated sludge plant with nutrient removal. The plant also includes
an anaerobic digestion system and mechanical sludge dewatering. The
project duration is approximately 18 months.

Dr. Johannes Laimer, Managing Director of Aqua Engineering, says:
