Over the past few years, the Vienna Insurance Group has been
implementing a particularly successful corporate policy which, along
with increasing internationalization, has resulted in dynamic growth
of the Group and an expansion of the top positions in those core
markets where the Vienna Insurance Group is represented.

For the purpose of continuing the impressive development experienced
within the Group as a whole and on the Austrian insurance market,
where Wiener Städtische has taken the lead quite distinctly, and in
order to prepare for a generation change in many areas of the Group,
General Manager Günter Geyer, in the Supervisory Board meeting of
Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group held on 25
September 2007, submitted the motion to appoint three Managing Board
Members from the Group as Deputy Members of the Managing Board of
Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group. This motion
was unanimously adopted by the Supervisory Board.

"Over the past few years, the expansion of the Vienna Insurance Group
was so dynamical and had such far-reaching effects", says Günter
Geyer, General Manager of Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna
Insurance Group, "that the internationalization should also be
reflected in the top management. This shall go hand in hand with a
generation change. Therefore it is sensible that we should set the
direction for our future development now, in a manner that will have
lasting effect. This is anticipated by a revision of the
organizational structure of the Managing Board."

Effective 1 October 2007, the following individuals are appointed
Deputy Members of the Managing Board of Wiener Städtische
Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group in the following chronological
and personal sequence:

Peter Höfinger, Member of the Managing Board of Donau Versicherung AG
Vienna Insurance Group

Judit Havasi, Member of the Managing Board of Union Biztosító in
Hungary

Martin Diviš, Deputy General Manager/Member of the Managing Board of
Kooperativa pojišt'ovna in the Czech Republic

The appointment of the Deputy Members is also effected against the
backdrop of the following planned changes in the Managing Board of
Wiener Städtische:

Rudolf Ertl, Member of the Managing Board of Wiener Städtische
Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group, will leave the Managing Board
of Wiener Städtische as of 31 December 2008. As of 30 June 2009,
Rudolf Ertl will resign from his office as Deputy General Manager of
Donau Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group and retire.

At the request of General Manager Günter Geyer, the title of "General
Manager" will be conferred upon Karl Fink, Deputy General Manager and
Member of the Managing Board of Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG
Vienna Insurance Group, effective on 1 October 2007, in recognition
of his successful commitment especially to the setting up and
development of the Vienna Insurance Group. Deputy General Manager
Karl Fink will end his active career as a Member of the Managing
Board as of 30 September 2009.

In recognition of the special success of Wiener Städtische in Austria
and the impressive gains in market shares achieved on the Austrian
insurance market over the past few years, the title of "Deputy
General Manager" will be conferred upon Robert Lasshofer, Director on
the Managing Board, effective 1 October 2007, at the suggestion of
General Manager Günter Geyer.

At the beginning of May 2008, Vladimír Mráz, General Manager of
Kooperativa pojišt´ovna, a.s., who for decades has steered the
company's development into one of the most successful private
insurance companies of the Czech Republic, will retire. Martin Diviš
is appointed his successor as General Manager. Peter Hagen, Member of
the Managing Board of Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna
Insurance Group will, in addition to performing his function on the
Managing Board in Vienna, steer important Group functions also from
Prague and will take over the additional function of "Deputy General
Manager" of Kooperativa Prague as from the beginning of November
2007.

Consequently, the Managing Board of Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG
Vienna Insurance Group shall be composed as follows as from 1 October
2007:

Karl Fink, General Manager

Robert Lasshofer, Deputy General Manager

Rudolf Ertl, Director on the Managing Board

Peter Hagen, Director on the Managing Board
