The Austrian company AvW Invest AG has acquired a nearly 2 percent
package of shares in the German telecom provider Ecotel (E4CG.DE).
"This was a unique opportunity, which has arisen at short notice and
which, at that price, we have gladly seized", says Wolfgang Auer von
Welsbach, Chairman of the AvW Board of Management. In total, the AvW
Group now holds more than ten percent of the stock of Ecotel, which
currently is experiencing strong growth. Further investments in
growth companies are a distinct possibility.

"The current situation on the stock markets offers exciting
investment opportunities. Particularly in the small and mid cap
arena, there are a number of interesting companies that can be
acquired at favourable conditions. This is an opportunity that we
will certainly not miss," says Mr. Auer von Welsbach.

Ninth real estate property

The AvW Invest AG also has acquired a further real estate property in
Carinthia. This takes the total number of AvW´s real estate
properties in Austria, which also include properties located on Lake
Wörthersee, to nine. "It is our goal to acquire one new property
every year. The purpose of this strategy is to build up our level of
capital assets and to safeguard the value of our investment
portfolio," says Auer von Welsbach. The company´s real estate
investments focus on building sites in prime locations and on
agriculture and forestry properties.
