Abbotsford, British Columbia (ots/PRNewswire) - ICS Copper Systems
Limited (TSX-V:ICX) reports that the development of its Mokambo
Copper Project, located in Mufulira, Zambia, is progressing ahead of
schedule.
Drilling has been completed on 24 of the proposed 120 shallow
diamond drill holes in the current program to delineate the oxide
copper and other base metals in the Roan Series Copperbelt
lithologies on the property. Visual copper mineralization has been
seen in the core. Assays are being done by SGS laboratories in
Johannesburg, S.A. and assay results are expected in late September
2007 or early October 2007.
The drill program is currently being supervised by D. Makepeace
M.Eng., P.Eng., Technical Director and acting COO for ICS and the
Qualified Person under N.I. 43-101.
A 2.72 hectare area has been cleared and leveled on the concession
to accommodate the office and processing buildings. A security fence
and gate has been erected to protect the 1.25 hectare compound. The
administration, geology/engineering, core storage and EMEW plant
buildings are being erected. Compound roads have been established to
service the mine buildings. The 2,000 meter water line from the 125
meter shaft to the compound has been completed. A water filtration
plant has been installed. The Company's EMEW pilot plating and powder
cell plants have arrived from the DRC and the 270 EMEW cells from
Australia are on schedule to be delivered to the site this fall.
The main road stabilization (10 kilometers) is almost complete and
will allow for year round access to all portions of the property.
There are 37 Zambian employees working directly for the company and
many more indirectly. Several social development programs have been
initiated to assist the nearby villages and municipality.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has started and
should be completed and approved by the end of the year.
