Only the slightest snap of a twig betrays the opponent coming up
behind you. The quality of 3D sound is an integral part of the
enjoyment of computer games. So that you can hear your opponent at
any moment and react like lightning, Sennheiser has added four
special headphones to their product range. They replicate fine
nuances of sound to such a degree that the gamer finds himself in the
centre of a virtual world. At IFA 2007, Sennheiser presents the HD
515 Gaming and HD 201 Gaming and, for portable gaming systems, the CX
500 Gaming and CXL 400 Gaming.

"The new headphones fulfil the most exacting requirements in terms
of sound quality, comfort of use and design. The new series suits
players from the hobby games arena to professional e-gamer level",
says Maurice Quarré, product manager for Home Audio at Sennheiser
Consumer Electronics GmbH. The HD 515 Gaming and HD 201 Gaming are
dark blue with chrome fittings, while the CX models come in black and
chrome.

Full size - for a full experience

The open, circumaural HD 515 Gaming features a special ergonomic
design to channel the sound directly into the ear: its transducers
are placed at a slight angle to perfectly conform to the anatomy of
the ear. Bass response goes to 14 Hz - just under the perception
threshold, whilst high frequency response is up to 26,000 Hz: an
optimal sound for both games and music. Light weight aluminium voice
coils provide high efficiency and fast response. The HD 201 Gaming
also fits round the ear, but because of its closed-back design,
provides better protection from external noise. Full stereo sound and
good bass response allow the gamer to be fully absorbed in the game.
At the same time, the HD 201 Gaming is robust and practical. The
headphones sit comfortably against the head even during long gaming
sessions, thanks to soft, leatherette cushioning and a weight of just
165 grams.

Small wonders of sound - when on the move CX 500 Gaming and CXL
400 Gaming (with lanyard) ear buds are ideal for travelling:
connected to a portable device or hand-held electronic game, you can
play whether sitting in a café or travelling the underground. No
interference, just the best sound for you and no disturbance for
fellow travellers reading their papers. Both ear bud models are
inserted in the ear canal and block out ambient sound. Special
adapters ensure a perfect fit. A wide ranging frequency response
makes for a full sound, which in the CX 500 model can be adjusted by
means of a volume control on the cable. Both ear-canal phones come
with a soft pouch; the CX 500 also includes a cable clip and cable
wrap.

And when you have reached your score and want to relax and listen
to music, the Sennheiser Gaming series delivers the best performance
for that too. All models can of course be used with an MP3 player.
