San Francisco (ots/PRNewswire) -

program

- Global ecosystem partners provide solutions for ACCESS Linux
Platform and other ACCESS products

LINUXWORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO -- ACCESS CO., LTD., today announced
the addition of eight new members to the growing roster of companies
supporting its ACCESS Linux Platform(TM) and NetFront(TM) browser
technologies through the ACCESS(TM) Connect Ecosystem (ACE) global
partner program. New members include companies in strategic, high
growth geographies, like China, as well as mobile Linux(R)-based
partners that provide tools and technologies that harness the full
power of native Linux solutions for the mobile and beyond PC markets.
The addition of the eight new members brings the total number of ACE
partners to over 65.

ACE partners work closely with ACCESS to expand the mobile Linux
market and help fuel the growth of converged technologies and
devices. Recent announcements from ACCESS and ACE partners on joint
solutions and business opportunities demonstrate the value that a
robust ecosystem can deliver to customers and to the industry as a
whole.

The Mobile Linux Market Is Gaining Momentum

ABI Research forecasts that by 2012, more than 127 million devices
will be enabled with a commercial Linux OS, up from 8.1 million in
2007. Additionally, device shipments that incorporate Linux as an
RTOS replacement are set to grow to more than 76 million units in
2012, up from nearly zero in 2007. "Linux within the cellular phone
is not a question of if, but when," said ABI Research Director Stuart
Carlaw.

"We believe that mobile Linux adoption can be accelerated to its
full potential with the development of a robust industry ecosystem to
complement and support it," said Toru Arakawa, ACCESS CEO, president
and co-founder. "The ACCESS Connect Ecosystem program brings together
