Cologne, 10th May 2007 - DocCheck AG, Cologne (ISIN DE0005471007 //
WKN 547100) achieved sales of EUR 3.3 million in the 1st quarter of
2007, representing growth of 5% over the 1st quarter of 2006 (EUR 3.1
million). Operating income (EBIT), while significantly below the
previous year´s exceptionally good figure (EUR 328 thousand) at EUR
38 thousand, is consistent with the long-term trend (1st quarter
2005: EUR 8 thousand; 1st quarter 2004: EUR 12 thousand). Orders are
normally lower in the first quarter, as it is marked by the budget
planning of customers in the healthcare market. It emerged overall in
the 1st quarter that, owing to the changes in the statutory framework
brought about by the major healthcare reform and to the associated
slight downturn in the pharmaceuticals market, customers in the
healthcare market reduced their marketing budgets in some areas.
Particularly affected by this development, which will continue in the
2nd quarter of 2007, was the antwerpes + partner division (agency
business), which recorded a slight downturn of 7% in sales to EUR 1.6
million. At the same time a clear budget shift towards e-marketing is
evident. This benefits the DocCheck division, comprising the portal
business, activities in the IP-TV field (DocCheck TV) and syndication
(medicalpicture). Here sales were successfully increased by 33% from
EUR 0.6 million to EUR 0.7 million.

The DocCheck Shop division, comprising the trading activities, grew
by 9% from EUR 0.8 million to EUR 0.9 million. The result from normal
business activity is EUR 170 thousand (previous year: EUR 456
thousand). Earnings per share are 1 cent (previous year: 5 cents).
The amount held in liquid funds and current-asset securities at the
end of the 1st quarter was EUR 16.3 million or EUR 2.76 per share
(previous year: EUR 16.6 million). DocCheck AG aims to increase sales
more significantly in the second quarter.
