Investment group acquires more than six per cent of C-QUADRAT´s
shares

In its efforts to expand its portfolio of equity holdings, the AvW
Group has acquired more than six per cent of the Austrian company
C-QUADRAT. The price for the package of shares in C-QUADRAT, which is
a strongly growing asset management company that is listed on the
Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (C8I.DE), is around
EUR 12 million. "We have an option to acquire an additional five per
cent of shares, which enables us to expand our position to more than
ten per cent", says Wolfgang Auer von Welsbach, Chairman of the AvW
Management Board, with respect to the investment.

Investment in C-QUADRAT further develops AvW´s position in the
financial sector C-QUADRAT - the fund company is an independent asset
management company which is primarily active in Austria, Germany and
the CEE countries. Established in 1991, C-QUADRAT´s own capital
investment company received a banking licence in 2003. C-QUADRAT has
made a name for itself throughout Europe with the analysis and
management of investment funds and by devising structured products.
With its newly acquired interest in C-QUADRAT, AvW intends to further
strengthen and expand its position in the financial sector. The AvW
Group holds about 74 per cent of AvW INVEST AG (AVWI.VI), which is
traded on the Prime Market of the Vienna Stock Exchange and whose
above-average growth rates have been attracting attention for quite
some time.
