ersol Solar Energy AG (ersol) today signed a contract with the German company Wacker Chemie AG, the world’s second-largest supplier of polysilicon for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industry, for delivery of this scarce raw material. This contract will apply from 2009 onwards and will enable ersol to generate an additional production output of about 300 MWp of crystalline solar cells over a period of nine years. The silicon price has been fixed for the entire term of the contract. ersol is scheduled to make down payments to Wacker Chemie.
