Pfaeffikon SZ, 28 February 2007 --- In the fiscal year ending 31
December 2006 shaPE made further progress as documented by the share
price which gained 12% to a record level of CHF 243.00. shaPE
achieved a gross investment income on its private equity portfolio of
CHF 12.0 million, including realized and unrealized gains on
investments of CHF 14.8 million and a net foreign exchange rate loss
of CHF 2.8 million caused by the continued weakness of the U.S.
Dollar vis-à-vis the Swiss Franc.

During the period shaPE’s underlying limited partnerships generated a
positive cash flow of CHF 5.4 million which illustrates the mature
stage of shaPE’s private equity portfolio. To benefit from the future
market development shaPE made six additional commitments at an
aggregate volume of CHF 38 million whereof five were follow-on
commitments to new funds of current general partner relationships of
shaPE.

shaPE is confident that its portfolio of private equity limited
partnerships has further potential and considers making new
commitments primarily to the best fund managers of the current
portfolio. Furthermore, shaPE intends to build-up new general partner
relationships on a selective basis to gain exposure to new areas, as
for example the BRIC economies, where the company sees sound
potential for private equity investments in the mid and long-term.
