Endesa and Gamesa purchase aleo modules for over €20 million

Oldenburg/Prenzlau (euro adhoc) - The solar module specialist and
systems supplier aleo solar AG has won additional major orders in
Spain: the company will deliver solar modules worth over EUR20
million in total to the renewable energy group Gamesa Solar S.A. and
the utility Endesa Energía S.A., the bulk of which will be delivered
in the course of 2007. These orders underscore the significance of
photovoltaic installations, which the Spanish government is
subsidizing in order to promote the establishment of solar
electricity plants in Spain. Since a portion of the orders will
already be recognised in income in December, the previous 2006
revenue target of EUR116 million can be taken to have been more than
met. "We identified these trends in Spain early on and are
excellently positioned for future growth in sunny southern Europe
with our new production facilities in the Barcelona area and with our
Spanish sales organisation", said Heiner Willers, member of aleo
solar AG’s Management Board. "We are certain that we will be able to
win additional major market players in southern Europe as customers
in the coming months". Germany also recorded a jump in the module
business towards the year-end: "It is becoming clear that our
project-specific and customer-specific pricing policy and our sales
focus on installation companies allow us to react rapidly to market
changes and be successful", said Jakobus Smit, the second aleo solar
AG Management Board member. The inventories built up over the third
quarter will be reduced significantly by year’s end.
