Berlin, November 28, 2006 - Air Berlin PLC has successfully completed
the third quarter. Due to the high number of bookings, Air Berlin
realized EUR 1.135 billion in revenue for the first nine months of
2006. With EUR 510 million, approximately 45% of the revenue was
generated in the third quarter. This corresponds to a 28.4% increase
in comparison with the same period of the previous year (EUR 397.3
million). From July to September 2006, Air Berlin’s operating
activities developed just as positively. The result from operations
amounted to EUR 54.3 million (EBIT), compared to EUR 51.7 million in
the corresponding period of the previous year. EBIT increased by 76%,
i.e. from EUR 23.5 million to EUR 41.4 million compared to the same
nine-month period of the previous year,

The third quarter of 2006 yielded Air Berlin's best operating result
ever. Together with dba, which was only included in the consolidated
accounts for the month of September, the Group generated a net profit
of EUR 38.7 million. In comparison with the same period of the
previous year (EUR 30.6 million), this improvement, i.e. a 26.5%
increase, stands out considerably. For the time period from January
to September, consolidated profit amounted to EUR 37.7 million
(previous year: EUR -12.5 million).
