QUARTER 2006 Quarterly Revenue of USD 17,5 Million (Q3/05: 16,9 Mio.)
Quarterly Net Income of USD 2,8 Million (Q3/05: -2,2 Mio.)

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., November 7, 2006 - Spark Networks plc (Prime
Standard: MHJG; AMEX: LOV), a leading provider of online personals
services, today reported third quarter 2006 financial results. The
Company has been successfully restructured with an emphasis on free
cash flow growth. Spark Networks will continue to focus on high
margin affinity groups, product enhancements and accretive
acquisitions to further strengthen the balance sheet of the company.

Financial Results Third Quarter 2006 Reported revenue for the third
quarter of 2006 was USD 17,5 million, an increase of 4% compared to
USD 16,9 million for the same period in 2005. Total operating
expenses for the third quarter of 2006 were USD 8,8 million, a
decrease of 25% compared to USD 11,8 million for the same period in
2005. EBITDA for the third quarter of 2006 was USD 3,7 million, an
increase of 505% compared to a negative EBITDA of USD 740.000 during
the same period in 2005. The Company reported net income of USD 2,8
million, or USD 0,09 per diluted share, for the third quarter of
2006, compared to a net loss of USD 2,2 million, or USD (0,08) per
share, for the same period in 2005. Average paying subscribers for
the Company as a whole in the third quarter of 2006 were 240.859, an
increase of 13% compared to 213.493 from the same period in 2005.
Subscriber Acquisition Cost for the Company in the third quarter of
2006 was USD 24,87, a decrease of 18% compared to USD 30,23 from the
same period last year.

Financial Results for the first nine months 2006 Revenue for the nine
months ended September 30, 2006 was USD 51,6 million, an increase of
6% compared to USD 48,9 million for the nine months ended September
30, 2005. Operating expenses for that period were USD 29,4 million, a
decrease of 6% compared to USD 31,2 million for the nine months ended
September 30, 2005. EBITDA for the nine months ended September 30,
2006 was USD 7,3 million, an increase of 281% compared to an EBITDA
of USD 2,6 million during the same period in 2005. Net income for the
first nine months 2006 was USD 3,9 million, or USD 0,12 per diluted
share, compared to a net loss of USD 1,0 million, or USD (0,04) per
share, for the same period in 2005. Average paying subscribers for
the nine months ended September 30, 2006 were 236.630, an increase of
11% compared to 213.966 for the nine months ended September 30, 2005.
Subscriber Acquisition Cost for the nine months ended September 30,
2006 was USD 27,33, a decrease of 4% compared to USD 28,57 for the
nine months ended September 30, 2005. Cash flow from operations
during the first nine months of 2006 was USD 8,3 million, an increase
of 388% compared to cash flow from operations of USD 1,7 million in
the first nine months of 2005.
