Following the first three quarters of 2006, the financial group AvW
INVEST AG has shown strong growth in the fields of financial services
and equity investments. The operating result rose by 47 per cent to
EUR 6.103 million, the profit before taxes by 28 per cent to EUR
6.099 million, and the profit after taxes (net profit for the period)
by 22 per cent to EUR 4.365 million. In the first nine months of the
current financial year, the earnings per share have increased by 22
per cent to EUR 1.45. The driving force within the various business
segments is the financial services business, with earnings from
derivatives transactions and asset management once more showing a
particularly strong development by comparison with the same period in
the previous year. In the investment business segment, some smaller
holdings in industrial companies have been disposed of. Real estate
business is proceeding according to plan.

Acquisitions were primarily focused on the German and Austrian IT
sector. The share in S&T (SNTS.VI) was increased to 20 per cent, and
the share in Cancom (COKG.DE) to over 10 per cent.

For the year as a whole, Wolfgang Auer von Welsbach, Chairman of the
Board of Management of AvW INVEST AG, expects a similar trend. Net
profits are projected to rise by 60%. Earnings per share should range
between EUR 2.35 and EUR 2.40.
