Exercise of employee stock options creates 3,050 new
austriamicrosystems shares from conditional capital

Unterpremstaetten, Austria (August 24, 2006) — austriamicrosystems
(SWX:AMS) announces that as a result of employees executing vested
options from the company’s employee stock option plan which was
instituted last year, 3,050 new shares have been created from the
conditional capital underlying this employee stock option plan and
resolved in last year’s annual general meeting.
