on 08 April 2010 and at that date held 4.129% of the voting rights (i.e.
2,721,501 shares with voting rights) in MVV Energie AG, Luisenring 49, 68159
Mannheim. In addition, Barclays plc fell below the 3% threshold of § 21 para. 1
WpHG on 09 April 2010 and at that date held 2.728% of the voting rights (i.e.
1,797,789 shares with voting rights) in MVV Energie AG.

Barclays plc was attributed all voting rights pursuant to § 22 para. 1 sent. 1
no. 1 WpHG via its subsidiaries Barclays Bank plc, London, England, and
Barclays Capital Securities Ltd., London, England. Barclays Capital Securities
Ltd. is the legal title owner of those shares.

We further announce that we have received the following notification from
