Intersolar 2009: IBC SOLAR presents new PV module series IBC PolySol VG and own range of monitoring products / Visitors to the exhibition can find IBC SOLAR at stand 130 in hall B3

Bad Staffelstein / München (ots) - At this year's Intersolar,
photovoltaics specialist IBC SOLAR is presenting its new services for
specialist partners, its own PV monitoring range IBC SolControl, and
the IBC PolySol VG module series. Visitors to the exhibition can also
find out about IBC SOLAR's unique in-house test laboratory at stand
130, hall B3. Since May the company has had its own climate chamber
and a flasher for conducting quality tests on PV components. Large
international solar projects are also a major theme again this year
at the IBC SOLAR stand.

New products and services

At this year's Intersolar, IBC SOLAR is presenting new services
for specialist partners. These include the new specialist partner
portal, a new advertising shop that makes ordering online even more
user-friendly, and a new promotion shop. IBC SolControl is IBC
SOLAR's own product line for PV-system monitoring. It is compatible
with all major inverter manufacturers and available in three models
(Light+, Basic and Pro) for different system sizes.

Another highlight at the IBC SOLAR stand are polycrystalline PV
modules with String RibbonTM technology, which are resource-efficient
to produce and offer a corresponding rapid energy payback period of
less than one year; in other words they produce more energy in one
year than was used to manufacture the modules. As an example, less
than five grams of silicon per watt peak is required to produce the
IBC PolySol VG cells, whereas around twelve grams are used in
conventional manufacturing processes. Performance tolerances of -0 to
+4.99 Watt mean that these modules deliver higher yields.

IBC SOLAR in-house test facilities

In order to put the modules through their paces and ensure
consistently high quality, IBC SOLAR has become the leading PV
company in Germany to set up its own flash test laboratory. In
collaboration with the Fraunhofer ISE, the PV company has set up a
flasher to ensure the power output of the delivered modules in the
long term for the clients. Flash tests are carried out in which a
flash of light, simulating solar irradiation, is fired at the modules
at a standard temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, in order to
calculate the current-voltage characteristic for the module. This
gives the experts all the characteristics of the modules, on which
basis conclusions can be drawn about the actual power output.
Furthermore, IBC SOLAR has built a climate chamber to put modules'
lamination and life span to the test under extreme temperature cycles
at different humidity levels.

"We have always expected our products to meet high quality
standards," explains Udo Möhrstedt, Chairman of the Board of IBC
SOLAR. "Our quality control tests are certified in accordance with
all the major quality standards according to the DIN ISO 2859-1.
Furthermore, they are regularly monitored by independent institutes
such as TÜV Rheinland or the Fraunhofer Institute. We carry out
testing to make sure that our specialist partners install only
high-quality modules on the roofs of buildings or in solar farms -
for the entire service life of more than twenty years."

Large-scale projects

Large-scale international photovoltaic projects will be another
major theme at the IBC SOLAR stand. For example, in mid-May the
Italian authorities approved plans for an 11.2 megawatt solar power
station in Manzano in northern Italy. Construction work is set to
begin in July 2009, with the solar farm due to go into operation in
early 2010.

Only recently, in March 2009, an independent report by the
auditors Fränkische Revisions- und Treuhandgesellschaft Dr. Friedrich
mbH (in short: frtpartner) confirmed the PV company's above-average
performance record for the yield value of the solar fonds that were
installed between 2002 and 2007, in which investors could
participate. Every single system generated higher yields than were
predicted in the forecast calculation. Olaf Baumer, managing director
of the solar funds division at IBC SOLAR (IBC SOLAR Invest GmbH),
states: "We always use a solid basis for our solar fund calculations
and we calculate a safety margin. Apart from that our knowledge and
expertise flow into our solar power station projects from the
planning and installation stages. Since we know exactly which
photovoltaic components work best together, our solar farms generate
high yields. This enables our investors to earn high returns for at
least twenty years."
