- According to the provisional figures, EBIT has climbed
significantly to EUR 5.8 million - High-margin license and services
businesses grow by around 6.9 % and 15.9 % respectively - Positive
outlook for 2008, with healthy order book

Berlin, February 25, 2008 - Pending the final audit of its financial
statements, Beta Systems Software AG (BSS, ISIN DE0005224406)
achieved an significant improvement in its results in the fiscal year
2007. Provisional calculations show that EBIT has risen to EUR 5.8
million (2006: EUR -15.6 million). This makes it the best result
achieved by the Berlin-based software supplier since the company´s
IPO and confirms the sound turnaround already achieved in the first
six months of 2007. According to provisional figures, revenues
generated by the license and services segments climbed 6.9% to EUR
29.0 million (2006: EUR 27.1 million) and 15.9% to EUR 14.6 million
(2006: EUR 12.6 million) respectively. Total revenues declined to EUR
88.7 million owing to the scheduled downsizing of the hardware
business (2006: EUR 96.6 million). The trend reversal at Beta Systems
is attributable to the consistent implementation of measures to
streamline sales, the optimization of the cost structure and
concentration on the company´s core business.

Provisional financial key data for the fourth quarter of 2007 -
Increase in operating result (EBIT) up by 37.2% to EUR 5.1 million
(Q4/2006: EUR 3.7 million) - License revenues up by 2.7% to EUR 12.5
million (Q4/2006: EUR 12.2 million) - Service revenues up 17.2% to
EUR 3.8 million (Q4/2006: EUR 3.3 million) - Marginal decline in
total revenues to EUR 27.5 million (Q4/2006: EUR 28.9 million)

Outlook for the fiscal year 2008 Based on the consistently good order
intake, the Management Board anticipates profitable growth in all
three business segments and, accordingly, another improvement in the
result in fiscal 2008. With a marginal increase in sales, management
is expecting the EBIT margin to grow in the upper single-digit range.
The Berlin-based software supplier intends to ensure a sustained
improvement in results through expanding its software license and
services business lines, reinforcing its market position in the
financial services sector and through servicing large customers, as
well as bolstering its global partner business. Above all, the
ongoing implementation of the Beta4Agility product and sales strategy
is set to play a major role this year which marks the company´s 25th
anniversary. The audited Annual Results for fiscal year 2007 will be
announced on March 20, 2008.
