London, 28 December 2008 - Air Berlin PLC announces that in connection with the merger of Condor Flugdienst GmbH , which was announced on 20 September 2007, the German Bundeskartellamt (Federal Cartel Office), with the approval of Air Berlin and Thomas Cook, today has extended the deadline for completion of its primary evaluation process by two months until 7 April 2008. This extension has been made as a result of the additional time required due to the complexity of the merger and the quantity of the data which has to be collected and reviewed. This extension is part of a routine regulatory process and Air Berlin PLC has not changed its view as to the likely decision of the Cartel Office as a result of this development.
